Monsters of the Red Sands
THE DESERT IS NEVER EMPTY.
Sometimes it is only waiting.
Monsters of the Red Sands brings together 11 original creatures from the world of The Tomb Beneath the Red Sands, each designed to bring something different to the table.
These are creatures shaped by a harsh land of shattered glass, forgotten roads, ancient tombs, abandoned shrines, and civilizations buried beneath centuries of sand.
Some stalk travelers from below.
Some guard places that should have remained forgotten.
Some are remnants of ancient powers.
And some are far stranger.
Designed for 5e-style fantasy roleplaying, these creatures can be used within The Tomb Beneath the Red Sands or dropped into your own campaign whenever you need a desert predator, supernatural threat, tomb guardian, ancient construct, or memorable encounter.
Inside you’ll encounter creatures such as the Bone-Bell Vulture, Shardback Burrower, Ink Wraith, Wardbreak Idol, Saltglass Scarabs, Queen of the Glass Flats, Sepulcher Dragon, and the mysterious Unnamed Astronomer.
The creatures are designed around more than raw statistics. Many feature abilities, behaviors, environmental interactions, or synergies that encourage positioning, investigation, preparation, and creative play.
The Queen of the Glass Flats, for example, becomes an entirely different encounter when supported by the creatures that inhabit her crystalline territory.
Whether you’re running the full Red Sands campaign or simply looking for something new to place beneath the next dune, these creatures are built to make your players wonder what else is waiting out there.
